CV & Job Safety Checklist

Protecting your personal details is crucial during a job search. Review this checklist before applying for any position.

Pre-Application Checklist

Check Spelling & Contact Details Ensure your phone number, email address, and name are spelled correctly. A single typo could mean missing an interview call.
Remove Sample/Placeholder Details Double check that you have replaced all template sample text (like company names, references, or dates) with your own experience.
Verify References Consent Make sure your referees know they are on your CV and have given permission to be contacted by hiring teams.
Remove ID Numbers Do not write your ID number, home address, or banking details on your public CV. Only provide these when signing an employment contract.
Verify Employer Email Domains Check if the company email address looks professional (e.g. name@company.co.za). Be wary of companies using free domains like @gmail.com or @yahoo.com.
Never Pay for a Job LEGITIMATE EMPLOYERS WILL NEVER ASK YOU TO PAY A FEE for administrative setups, training materials, or uniform items to get a job interview.

By following these simple points, you can avoid scams and present a professional, safe CV.
